Album cover analysis
One of the projects we have to do to contribute to our music video is we have to produce an album cover to go with our song. I decided to analyse different album covers by some of my favourite bands to see how they differ and are similar so we have some initial ideas.
The first album cover is 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.' the cove is quite plain, there's not much going on, however, you can tell the type of music because of the way Noel is dressed and the fact there is a rustic overcoat to the cover, making the background seems quite rough. Also the black strips running down one side makes the album quite eye catching so people are more likely to look at it because it is different.
The next cover is 'Adele 21' by looking at the photo of her you can see she is quite relaxed and calm so you can infer that the music is going to be that way too. The fact that the effect is black and white shows that man of the songs may be a little glum or sad. By first impressions I would think that they're mainly love songs.
My third one that I have analysed was 'The Beatles' sergeant peppers. This differs from other two because it uses many different and bright colours, that stand out from the crowd, this means that the album cover will be eye catching. The Beatles themselves are in brighter clothes than the rest, so we know who the main people are. Also we can infer that the song is going to be quite fun, strange and different because of all the different contrasts.
